As I shared with you this yesterday, the situation in our school community is beginning to mirror what is happening in the rest of the state. While cases among students are beginning to increase, we are also having to quarantine personnel. This is limiting our ability to continue our face-to-face instruction. Therefore, beginning Monday,  November 16, 2020, we are going to pause our in-person learning model for all buildings through November 30, 2020, with the intention of resuming face to face learning December 1, 2020.

literacy nights Elementary schools hold fall family literacy nights

Both elementary buildings held their fall family literacy nights at the end of October. Families were able to attend face-to-face and virtually! At South Elementary, staff decorated their cars for families to drive by and guess the book they were depicting.

The best way to communicate with us is through email.  At MHS, each grade level has received an email to check their Google Classroom. We have posted valuable information for students and parents. Recommended strategies for reducing stress and maintaining coping skills:

Develop a self care routine for your day.

Set short term goals for the week.

Reach out to a family member or friend to check in with them via text, phone calls, notes, 

Get some sort of physical activity each day.

Maintain a healthy diet.

Discover a new hobby.

Get enough rest.

Talk out and express your feelings.

Do a family movie or game night.

Get outside for fresh air.

Keep busy with projects and activities, cooking, cleaning and school work.

Maintain healthy hand washing and social distance.
