It’s that time of year again – today we held our Project Unify Assembly! Students of Mr. Sanford’s room participated in a student vs. faculty basketball game at MHS, and had a full day with games, tshirts, and the whole school got to come watch and cheer on the Unify team.
Project Unify is a program run every year that facilitates inclusion and respect for all students in order to foster friendships and celebrate differences. This program was created in 2014 by then-senior Haley Azbill, who hoped it would work to connect students with special needs with peers they don’t usually see. The special needs students are the stars of the game as they have the opportunity to feel the excitement, cheers, and support of their fears. This event has been bringing the entire community together since its founding, and continues to do so.
