Due to COVID-19, voting is still open for the March 17 Primary election. The Madison School District is part of the Lake County Finance District, which has a renewal levy on this ballot. Even if you do not intend to vote for a party, you can still request an issues-only ballot and vote re: this renewal levy.
This is a renewal of a long-standing 4.9-mill levy for an additional five-year period. Renewals were previously approved in 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010, and 2015. This levy generates approximately $1 million for Madison Schools annually. As a renewal of an existing levy, this levy will NOT increase taxes.
The district relies on these funds for necessary personnel, materials, supplies, and transportation.
Voting in this election is by absentee ballot only. To request an absentee ballot, click here to download, fill out, and mail the form. Your ballot will be mailed to you with a postage-paid envelope.
