Robotics teams place in 11th Annual RoboBots Competition

Athena

Madison Robotics had great success in the 2021 Alliance for Working Together’s 11th Annual RoboBots Competition at Fredon Corporation on April 24. Students worked as a team with machinists, engineers, and corporate executives to research, design, wire, fabricate, assemble, and test fifteen pound combat robots, like Battlebots.

There were sixteen teams from twelve different schools that competed. Madison had three teams participate: Athena, Hades, and Hephaestus. Athena placed 3rd in Best Documentation and Best Engineered; Hades placed 3rd in Best Interview. Athena will compete again on May 15 at Knoebels Amusement Park in Pennsylvania.

Teams also battled in a bullet proof cage of destruction in a double elimination tournament, which Madison did not place, but came close! This is a great authentic learning experience in the world of manufacturing careers, which is the leading employment sector in Ohio.
