The South Elementary Student Council was proud to present the United Way Lake County a $2,500 check after a successful pumpkin raffle donation. The pumpkin raffle sold tickets for 25¢ -- which means 10,000 tickets were sold for the raffle!
The most popular item of the raffle was a pop-it collection, donated by South’s Autism Unit staff. In addition, over thirty staff members donated items like decorated pumpkins, movie baskets, a filled piñata, and more.
South’s Student Council consists of fourth and fifth graders who have been elected by their peers. These students are advised by fourth grade teacher Mrs. Cathy Sturm and fifth grade teacher Mrs. Denise Hufgard.
After their successful pumpkin raffle, the Student Council is now trying to collect 300 boxes of cereal for a Big Domino Show and donate food to the Madison Food Center.
We are so proud of our generous students and their families, who are so committed to helping support our community in a variety of ways!
