Student athletes set new records for MHS

Basketball

Congratulations to two of our student athletes on their recent record-setting accomplishments!

Maddie Moretti, senior, moved to the national level with her shot-put throw of 43 feet and 2 ¼ inches on February 10 at the SPIRE Institute. She not only broke the school record and ranks #1 in Ohio, she is in the top 10 for the entire nation! Maddie has recently signed with Duquesne University on a track and field scholarship next fall. SPIRE Institute aims to provide an environment where individuals can excel in their sport specialization.

John Peter Dragas, sophomore, tied the school record for 3-point shots made in a boys basketball game with seven shots, and also set the school single-game total points record with a score of 52 on Saturday, February 19. As only a sophomore, MHS can’t wait to see what else John will accomplish during his time on the basketball team!

Congratulations to these two talented students! MHS is impressed with your dedication to your sport, and excited to see what you will do as you continue through MHS and into college.
