Trees for Wildlife at the elementary schools

On March 11, first grade students participated in a program called Trees for Wildlife, which included a presentation on what animals get from trees, such as food or shelter, and also what trees are used for. Afterwards, Woody the Tree shared a legend about evergreen trees and how they came to be evergreen, and led students through a pledge to care for the tree seedlings they received. Students took home small white pine seedlings to take home and plant.
