This year we are adding the use of our courtyard as a science, math, art, and social studies exploration center. We have installed a mud sink, multiple art stations, a full size chime, and a few other surprises to get children talking and working together. Additionally through our preschool grant we have added some great instructional supplies like mini-robots, extra water tables, a light table in most classrooms, a family engagement center, and brand new library books.
We have many opportunities for families to participate in the learning. Along with the traditional orientations, open houses, and conferences, our staff provides family workshops three to four nights a year including a visit with one of Northeast Ohio’s local authors. Our community outreach includes the Madison Public Library, Crossroads, Coast Guard, Lake Metroparks, the Madison Police and Fire Departments, and others. Our parent partner, our PAC (Parent Advisory Council) spearheads two Scholastic Book Fairs and a Petting Farm right here at the preschool. They also provide uptodate information on their website, the Madison Pre-K PAC. Oh, and I almost forgot our spring field trip of fishing, family picnic and water play day.
I hope you and your family enjoy your years here at the Madison Pre-K. Please feel free to contact us if you would like a tour or to enroll your child. And, of course, let us know what we can do to make you and your child’s first experiences with Madison Schools the very best it can be.
