Hello Parents and Students,

I am super excited to get back to school, online and in person, and I know the staff is super excited to get things rolling here at MMS. This year is going to be very unique in the way MMS and the Madison Local School district delivers instruction.  We will be offering an online virtual learning environment and an in-person learning environment, as well.  Below is the schedule for the “MMS Welcome Back” week.  Please take a few moments to read over the basic information, requirements and expectations for both learning environments.

Some basic information for MMS parents and students:

  • Online/Virtual Students pick up chromebooks and supplies Thursday, August 27th, from 5pm-8pm in the front of the building, main doors and will log on to their classes Friday, August 28th, for the first time; look for emails from your teachers with Google Classroom codes;

  • Same bell schedule as in years past;

  • 1st period and school starts at 8:20am;

  • 47 minute periods, 7 periods in a day;

  • If you are dropping off your student in the morning, please drop off in the front of the building no earlier than 8:00am and no later than 8:20;

  • Enter east driveway to drop off, exit west driveway;

  • NO LATE ARRIVAL TUESDAYS;

  • Pick up students at the end of the day is at 2:45pm.  Please park along the front of the building and in the parking spaces out front to pick up your child. Same traffic pattern to pick up.  If you park along the front of the building, please fill in the spots along the curb all the way to the end of the building; do not block the east entrance...buses need to pull in as well;

  • School supply list is on the school website and facebook;

  • If your child is learning in person, please make sure they have adequate supplies...there will be no sharing paper, pencils, pens or any other school supplies while in school;

  • Please make sure your student brings a water bottle and a backpack or bookbag of some sort; there will be no lockers used this year and the student will carry all supplies with them;

  • Masks will be worn at all times in the building by students and staff;

  • Students will be required to wash and sanitize their hands several times during the day;

  • Students learning online (Virtual) are expected to follow a schedule that mirrors those students that are learning in person, and they will be learning the same curriculum, have the same assessment, projects and timelines to complete work;

  • If we go online for all students, all students will have login information and will follow the same requirements that students that started online are required to follow;

  • It is CRITICAL that all parents update their EMA online and have a working phone number and an email address so that Infinite Campus updates can be sent to you and that teachers can contact parents and guardians.

  • If your child has a fever and is feeling ill in any way, please keep them home.

  • Please minimize coming to or into the school unless called.
