Community Update, November 22

November 22, 2022

Dear Madison Community,

It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving break is upon us.  I hope that each of you has a restful holiday with your family and friends.

As we look forward to the holiday season, the sights and sounds of the season are all around us.  Mark your calendars for the annual Holiday Music Program featuring both our band and choir on December 14, 2022 at 7 p.m. Our elementary schools are bringing back their Santa Shops.  South Elementary School’s Shop will be December 1 from 5:30-8 p.m., and North Elementary School’s is December 2 from 5-8 p.m.

Thank you again to the Madison Joint Recreation District for sponsoring the Car Raffle with the Chevy Network Dealers and Classic Chevrolet of Madison. Funds from this raffle will be used for improvements to our athletic complex. If you have not purchased a ticket yet, please go to www.madisonschools.net and click on the link available under “Latest News.” We have sold over 2,000 tickets and will continue selling on the website as well as at Christmas in the Village next weekend and at a variety of home sporting events.  We appreciate the generosity of the Chevy Network Dealers and Classic Chevrolet of Madison in supporting our community, as well as everyone who has purchased tickets and supported this raffle.

Please check out our Madison Local Schools-Lake County Facebook Page, formerly known as the Madison Schools Good News Page.  We publish our updates there, our newsletter articles, and other relevant information regarding our schools.  In addition to twitter, I will also be posting school closings on this page.

And please check out today’s Good News Newsletter – this week, we feature Madison High School’s Family Consumer Science Program as well as the annual Bear project that takes place in Life Skills classes.  We also honor our veterans and share how our Madison Students recognized Veterans Day throughout our school community.

Again, I hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday filled with good food, lots of smiles and fun!

Sincerely,

Angela Smith

Superintendent
