Dear Madison Community,
We have just completed the first quarter of school, and the holiday hustle and bustle is fast approaching. Grades will be posted in Infinite Campus next week. Please check on your child’s progress, and while in Infinite Campus, please make sure your information is up-to-date so you will be sure to receive important news and calamity day notifications.
When reviewing progress with your child, look for trends and always try to start with the positive. Ask your child what has been going well and what concerns they have. You are a partner in your child’s education, and establishing those lines of communication is important.
Thank you again to the Madison Joint Recreation District for sponsoring the Car Raffle with the Chevy Network Dealers and Classic Chevrolet of Madison. If you have not purchased a ticket yet, please go to www.madisonschools.net and click on the link available under “Latest News.” Tickets will also be available at tonight’s home football game against Garfield Heights and are available at all buildings throughout the district. The Madison Joint Recreation District will be donating the proceeds from the raffle to our district to be used for improvements to the athletic complex. Tickets are $10 each, and the goal is to sell 10,000 tickets.
Tomorrow, Madison High School will be hosting the District Cross Country Meet for the State Tournament. If you enjoy watching Cross Country, some of the fastest runners in the region will be competing. This is alway an exciting event for our community, and it could not happen without the work of our Cross Country coaches, athletic director, and maintenance staff. Thank you to all who help make this event possible!
If you have ever had a desire to work in the schools, we are always looking for substitutes for all positions in our districts. Contact Dave Bull at david.bull@madisonschools.net. If you would like to drive a bus, contact Kim Boggs at Community Bus Service at kboggs@com-bus.com. We appreciate those who have reached out to help during these unprecedented times.
Please check out the Good News newsletter – this week, we thank our anonymous donor for helping to repair the track. We also feature our Maintenance Department and the outdoor classroom at Madison Middle School. Enjoy what is going to be a beautiful weekend with all the fall colors! #MadisonStrong!
Sincerely,
Angela Smith
Superintendent
