MHS Choirs & Soloists earn I Rating in Solo & Ensemble Competition

OMEA logo

Congratulations to our Madison High School Choirs for their participation in the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) Virtual Solo and Ensemble Event on March 10. The Solo and Ensemble Event is an opportunity for groups to perform for judge’s comments and ratings.

The MHS Choirs submitted three solo and four ensemble performances, each one earning a I, which is the highest rating out of V. According to the OMEA Solo and Ensemble rating system, receiving a I means the group or soloist gave an outstanding performance with very few technical errors and exemplified a truly musical expression. This rating is reserved for a truly outstanding performance.

Congratulations to:

  • Soloists Payton Chapman, Anna Elder, and Rachel Garvin

  • Soloists Andrew Dalke, Mark Hribar, Jack Rees, and Logan Revier in the Men’s Ensemble

  • All members of Eclectica, Concert Choir, and Women’s Choir
