Teacher receives grant for online, interactive laboratory

Congratulations to Ms. Liz Nainiger, science teacher at Madison Middle School, who was recently approved for the Martha Holden Jennings grant. This grant covers licenses to explorelearning.com for an entire year.

ExploreLearning Gizmos is a website that offers over 400 math and science “Gizmos” that gives students an interactive playground to graph, measure, compare, predict, and prove.

“The ‘Virtual Laboratories - Gizmos’ project that was presented for the grant has been directly linked to the educational outcomes of our Madison students,” says Mr. Brady, Principal of the Middle School. “The landscape of today has greatly changed the ability for our students to complete labs in the way they have always been conducted, and the interactive ‘Gizmos’ allows science to be experienced. I am very excited to share these interactive lessons with our students.”

The grant was provided through the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation, which aims to recognize and support Ohio’s public school teachers and students, a population they believe have been overlooked in philanthropic circles in favor of higher education.
