Congratulations to our Spelling Bee Champions and runners-up! Our little “spelling bees” really spelled their way to V-I-C-T-O-R-Y!
North Elementary, South Elementary, and the Middle School all worked hard to ensure that students could still participate in this traditional event while maintaining safety precautions. Students were separated and masked within an area that allowed their families to see them via Zoom. When they were called to spell, students stood and pulled their masks down.
“Normally, these Bees would be held in the cafeteria with the kids’ classes and families in attendance, spellers on stage,” explains Ms. Kriegmont, SES Principal. Instead, the schools chose to have families call in over Zoom, so they could still watch their bees spell!
The champions move on to the District Bee on January 26 -- details TBA. Stay tuned!
