Welcome Blue Streaks,
We are excited for the 2018-2019 school year. We have many exciting events planned for our students and staff. Our motto at NES is: WHERE EVERY STUDENT COUNTS and EVERY MOMENT MATTERS!
Our BIG 5 at North Elementary are the following:
2. Culture and Climate (Family/Team)
3. Relationships Matter (Kid Connectors)
4. Rigor/High Expectations (Focus on the execution not the result)
5. Communication is the key!
We are implementing a new attendance initiative/incentive program called "IF YOU MISS SCHOOL, YOU MISS OUT!" #everyminutematters. We are encouraging our students/parents to make sure our Blue Streaks are here every day and on time. We will be rewarding "perfect attendance winners" each week with THOMAS TIME on Mondays.
We are also implementing our new "E+R=O" high expectations/incentives program. E stands for EVENT, R stands for the child's RESPONSE to the event and the O stands for the OUTCOME. We can only control our "R" in situations that will determine our outcomes. We are continuing our MAYER TIME for exceptional behavior and work ethic on Fridays this year.
Our mission at NORTH ELEMENTARY is: To challenge, motivate, and inspire every child to maximize their potential through hard work, dedication and perserverance. We hope through all the academic, physical and social experiences we offer that our children will model honesty, integrity, respect for others, teamwork and kindness towards others in our building.
We look forward to a great year with our Blue Streaks. We encourage you to get involved in your child's education. Please read with them at home every night. A great way to get involved in the school is to join our PTA. We have a tremendous group of parents who help provide exciting learning opportunities.
If you have any questions for myself or my assistant, Mr. Eric Thomas, you can email either of us at:
