Community Update, March 3

Angela Smith, Superintendent

March 3, 2023

Dear Madison Community:

March has definitely rolled in like a lamb, albeit a wet one.  We are wrapping up our third quarter next week and coming into the final quarter of the school year.  The last part of the year is very busy in all the buildings with state testing as well as the many year-end activities.  As events are finalized, we will be updating them on the calendar section of our website.

I want to congratulate our 7th Grade Girls Basketball Team on winning the Western Reserve Conference Tournament last night and for going 18-1 this season.  Coach Lee Polzer and his team had an amazing season and it was a great way for the team to finish!

We have two very special events coming up. The first is the Son and VIP (Very Important Person) Dance sponsored by the North Elementary School PTO on March 10, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at NES.  This “Out of this World” event is open to Pre-K through 5th grade boys and their very important person.  I have attached the flyer with ticket information to this update.  The Madison Kiwanis is hosting the “Under the Stars”  Father-Daughter Dance on Friday, April 28, 2023 from 6:30-8:30 at Madison High School. Flyers will be sent home with students before spring break, and the Kiwanis Club of Madison Ohio Facebook Page will launch the information and ticketing page the same day.

We once again will be offering summer programming during the month of June that will be available for students in grades K-12 .  More information will be available in our next newsletter.  These programs are wonderful ways to keep your student engaged during the summer, and we encourage you to consider participating, even if your student has participated in the past.

Our newsletter this week features articles on our partnership with the Madison Public Library, Model UN, and our after school tutoring program.  Please take time to read what is going on in the district.  If there is something you would like to know more about regarding the district,  please email me at angela.smith@madisonschools.net.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.  #MadisonStrong!

Sincerely,

Angela Smith

Superintendent
