Community Update Sept. 2, 2022

Superintendent Angela Smith

Dear Madison Community,

The bonfire last night was a great community gathering and was well attended.  I want to thank our Senior Class Advisors Dana Clark and Emily Daniels for organizing this fun event leading up to our home game against Perry tonight. We also have a special recognition tonight prior to the game: we will be recognizing Maddie Moretti for winning the state championship in shotput and discus last spring.  It will be a great evening!

We have sold 370 tickets so far in our car raffle.  I would like to again thank The Chevy Network dealers and Classic Chevrolet East for their generous donation of the 2022 Chevy Equinox for Madison Schools to raffle off.  All money raised benefits our athletic department.  Tickets are available at select events in the district, at the Board Office, and online. To purchase tickets online, visit our website at www.madisonschools.net.

On Tuesday, September 6, the middle and high schools will start “late arrival Tuesdays.”  Those of you who have been around before know that the bus pick-ups for middle school and high school will be 30 to 40 minutes later on Tuesdays than the rest of the week. If you have specific questions, please contact your building.  Specifics will also be sent via Infinite Campus.  The elementary schedule does not change; those buses will pick up students at the regular time.

While we are fortunate to have full staff in our regular positions, we are in need of substitutes in all areas.  If you are interested in substituting as a teacher, aide, nutrition services worker, or custodian, please contact Dave Bull.

Today also marks the return of our bi-weekly email newsletter, “Madison Schools Good News.”  The goal is to share more about all the exciting things happening in our schools.  We will be providing you with an overview of all aspects of the district, not just news you see on Facebook or Twitter. Look for the e-newsletter in your inbox every other Friday around 5 pm.

Thank you to all for the great start of the school year, and I hope that everyone enjoys the holiday weekend!  #MadisonStrong!

Sincerely,

Angela Smith
Superintendent
