Madison High School Updates

As the school year comes to an end, we would like to take a moment to feature some of the great things going on at the High School! Check out what our students have been up to, as well as what’s coming up:

  • Madison Theater debuted their latest show, High School Musical, last night to a wonderful crowd! The show will be running through the weekend.

  • We had nearly 400 THANK YOU notes electronically submitted and delivered from students, parents, and colleagues to MHS Staff, as well as staff from the other buildings within our district, submitted during Staff Appreciation Week. The staff was very appreciative of the kind and heartfelt notes.

  • We have 8 CBI students who have been accepted to Auburn Career Center!!! This is an awesome accomplishment for these students and a great accomplishment for the CBI Program! They have worked very hard over the last two years to be eligible to attend Auburn regarding Attendance, Behavior, and Grades. Students utilized their soft skills and rocked their interviews and beat out candidates as they were accepted into some of the most sought after programs at Auburn including (but not limited to) Welding, HVAC, and Cosmetology. We are all very proud of their accomplishment and are excited to watch them flourish as we continue to support their educational endeavors.

  • Girls softball won their sectional game against Massillon Jackson 2-0 last night to advance to the district portion of the OHSAA tournament. They play Monday, May 17 at 2:00 against Walsh Jesuit at Mentor HS. Tickets are $10 available on the OHSAA website.

  • Eight MHS wrestlers will be competing in the Disney Duals this summer in Orlando, FL.

  • Mr. Sivon had two students reach professional typing speed averaging over 70 WPM for the semester. Sophomores Madelyne Valenjevick and Grace Herbst both reached an average typing speed for the year above 70 words per minute.

  • The MHS Vocal Music Department had a successful Eclectica Cabaret, featuring the many talented members of the show choir. The performances are included below. In addition, Concert Choir and Women’s Choir submitted recordings for the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) Virtual Large Group Contest and are anxiously awaiting their ratings!
