Today, September 17, South Elementary students gathered to put on a “Constitution Day” program, a fun-filled tribute to America. The program featured multiple speakers to share the history of the Constitution, as well as the second graders, who learned four songs for the program.
“I was so pleased to welcome the families back to SES for this important and entertaining program,” says Principal Shannon Kriegmont. “The U.S. Constitution was ratified 233 years ago. Wow! The audience seemed to enjoy celebrating the freedoms and responsibilities of being a citizen of the United States of America with the students’ joyful program.”
The program also included the flag raising, the Pledge of Allegiance, and the recitation of the Preamble. Second graders sang “The Star Spangled Banner,” “This is America,” “Oh, I Love America,” and “Fifty Stars.”
