All about Mrs. Petersen

Hello students and parents, and welcome to fourth grade:)  I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself.  I have been a part of the Madison Local School District since I was in fourth grade myself!  I attended Homer Nash Kimball, and then graduated from Madison High School (many, many years ago).  After graduating from Lake Erie College, I worked as a substitute teacher for a couple of years before being hired at Red Bird Elementary in 1999. With construction of the new buildings, I moved to the South building in 2013.  I currently have my Master's Degree in Elementary Education.   I am very proud to serve the Madison Community and work in my hometown!

On a more personal level, I live in South Madison in the farmhouse that used to belong to my grandparents.  I am the 6th generation of my family to live in the house, which was built in 1851!  I have two sons.  Mason is currently attending Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, and Carson is a junior at Madison High School.  We have a very smart but naughty puppy named Charlie.  In my spare time, I like to do crafts, work in my flower beds, and read.  I also love to write, and dream of someday publishing a children's book of my own!
